Cookbooks are HERE!!

The cookbooks are here and I am working on getting them packaged and ready to be sent out this Friday.  However, we do have about 25 extra right now that are up for sale.  If you get your order in soon, you could still receive your cookbooks by Christmas - and they will make a fantastic Christmas gift!!  Here are a few previews...

He's Here!!

After twelve weeks of waiting, and lots of ups and downs, our sweet baby boy is here!!  Born at 8:55pm on 11/9/10 at 7lbs 4 oz and 20" long, our sweet Bug came into our arms about an hour and a half later - and hasn't left since!!

I know its taken quite a while to get the finished pictures up, but here are the pictures of the boys' bedroom and playroom.

We are very happy with the way they turned out, but have had our painting fill for a while!

We did it!

So sorry for the delay in updating - we've had a sick boy around here for a few days, but thankfully he is much better now!  We did make it to 100 and we actually ordered a few extra books for anyone wanting last minute orders.  The order is in, and we are expecting them in about 2 weeks before Christmas.  We cannot begin to express our thankfulness and appreciation to each and every person who has helped us!  As for the total funds for adopting - we still have a long way to go, but we now have a good start. Thank you again!

We have been working on the boys' room and are starting a list for the things we want to get done before the new baby gets here - 4 weeks from tomorrow!  Here are a few teasers for the boys' room....what we started with and us trying to figure out what paint we want.

I'll try to get better at updating on a more regular basis, but we'll see what happens!

94!!!

God is SOOO amazing!!!  We went from 23 orders yesterday morning to 94 today!!  PRAISE GOD!!

Not giving up!

We are trusting God and not giving up that this will work out.  We currently have 41 paid pre-orders, and one day left to get up to 100.  We are working on alternative ideas if we do not hit the 100 mark so that everyone will get their cookbooks in time for Christmas (they just may look a little different)!

As for the nursery, we did put some paint samples on the walls, but decided they were not right.  Back to the drawing board paint store.  We are hoping to get a good start this weekend since we are less than 5 weeks away from the due date.  I'll try to get some pictures up once it is done!

Thanks again to each and every one of you who is helping us bring our baby boy home!  And a huge, special thank you to a very good friend who has pulled in about 1/3 of the orders so far!! :)

God is Great

We are up to 23 orders!!  Only 77 more to go in 3 days - and we know that we can get there because God is great!

We were not able to get to the nursery this weekend, but we did get a few paint samples.  The hope is to start taping off through the week and be ready to go once we have time and finalize the exact colors.  I did spend the evening yesterday going through clothes and pulling out the next size/season's wardrobe out for our older son.  Pretty soon, I'll be pulling out all the newborn clothes again and getting them ready for the new baby - only 5 more weeks from tomorrow!  OK - now I'm going to start sorting through a big container of socks to pull out the smaller ones for Baby Boy #2.

Cookbook Orders

Now that we have all the orders - the big focus is on the orders.  Thank you to the new orders today!!  Your order must be paid up front to be official.

We have just under six weeks until the baby's due date.  We are hoping to start getting the nursery together this weekend and going through the clothes.  Its crazy that time is starting to tick down so quickly!!  We are so excited and thankful that God has blessed us once again with a baby boy!

Sorry for the lapse in posting - its been a busy weekend (with intermittent internet).  We are planning on painting the nursery next weekend, so there may be a lapse in posting then too ;-).  No new adoption news, just continuing the prayers for the birth mom and baby boy.

Orders Needed

With the recipes coming in a steady stream, now we need the orders!  We are hoping to place the order on October 6th so we can have them back and distributed by Christmas (plus we need to pay the agency).  There is a minimum order quantity (100) and we are very far from that.  We will only be buying for paid pre-orders.

All of the profits will be going to help us pay the adoption fees for our second child.  Thankfully, it is another boy so we have most everything we need - just not the adoption fee.  We truly appreciate each and every person and the support they provide!  We would not be able to make it through this without you!!

I received a super idea today - provide an updated recipe count per category.  I will try to get the up tomorrow!  As for now, I did get some pictures of the sample cookbook.  Ours will be the same size (6" x 9") with the spiral binding, but will have a different cover/divider design.  The recipes will not be broken onto different pages - which I think is awesome!

As for the adoption front - we are still waiting.  We are working on getting the room set up and raise the funds we need to proceed - fully trusting the Lord will provide everything we need!

Update and Needs

Currently, we have 37 recipes.  We are hoping to have at least 150-200 recipes to include in our cookbook.  I do not have the break out of types of recipes we have, but we need to cover all categories (appetizers, beverages, soups, salads, vegetables, sides, entrees, breads, desserts, etc) so keep sending in the recipes to recipesneeded@gmail.com.

I did get sample a sample cookbook and am planning to post pictures soon.  We are only going to order the number of cookbooks that have paid pre-orders!!

Remember - recipes are being collected until October 1st (2 weeks) and we are planning on placing the cookbook order (we need at least 100!) by October 6th so we can get them back in by Christmas (and our payment to the agency).

Thank you to everyone who has donated recipes so far, but we still need A LOT more to make a cookbook!!

Prep time!

We started cleaning out our extra room today.  We have decided to put both boys in that room and make D's current room the play room.  The catch is we have to paint the extra room before we move them in - its currently a peach color (borderline pinkish).  We LOVE the color, but not for 2 boys.  This will work out well because the walls in D's room the play room need to be painted too.  The count down has begun - 8 weeks from tomorrow our son is due to make his grand entrance!!

Thank you to the people who have sent recipes in!  Please send any and all recipes you have - without recipes, we don't have a cookbook!!!

We are matched!

Yesterday we met with the birth mom and it went delightfully well!  We walked out officially matched, and are now waiting until she goes into labor.  That gives us just 2 short months to raise funds for the adoption.  Thankfully, we are blessed to have another little boy so we have most of what we need.

We really need recipes to create the cookbook - and you are not obligated to purchase a cookbook if you want to donate a recipe.  We are planning on placing our cookbook order (hopefully the first of several) on October 6th to get them shipped in time for Christmas (what a perfect gift!), but there is a minimum order quantity.

We really appreciate all the help, love, and support from all our friends and family in our desire to grow our family!!
